Role summary

The Executive Director of Product is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing the company's product vision and strategy. This position oversees the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and optimization, ensuring products are customer-centric and aligned with business objectives. Position Overview

The Executive Director of Product is responsible for leading the company’s product function, driving the development and execution of product strategy, and ensuring the successful delivery of innovative, customer-centric products. This role oversees product management, product strategy, and cross-functional execution to align product initiatives with overall business objectives.

Acting as a key leader within the organization, the Executive Director of Product bridges strategic vision with operational execution, enabling sustainable growth, market differentiation, and superior customer value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Vision

Define and drive the overall product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with corporate goals

Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive positioning to inform product direction

Lead product portfolio strategy, balancing innovation, growth, and profitability

Ensure alignment between product initiatives and long-term business objectives

  • Product Development & Lifecycle Management

Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle management, from ideation and development to launch and optimization

Collaborate with engineering, design, and operations teams to deliver high-quality products

Establish product development frameworks, prioritization processes, and governance models

Ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement of product offerings

  • Market & Customer Focus

Drive customer-centric product development through research, feedback, and data analysis

Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities

Translate insights into actionable product requirements and value propositions

  • Go-to-Market & Commercial Alignment

Partner with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies

Define product positioning, messaging, and pricing strategies

Support successful product launches and drive adoption and revenue growth

  • Performance Management & Optimization

Define and track key product KPIs such as adoption, retention, revenue contribution, and customer satisfaction

Conduct regular product performance reviews and implement improvement initiatives

Optimize product portfolio based on data-driven insights and business priorities

  • Leadership & Team Development

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing product team

Establish best practices, tools, and processes for product management excellence

Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration

Develop leadership capabilities within the product organization

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred

Experience

Minimum of 12–15 years of experience in product management or related roles

At least 5–8 years in senior leadership positions overseeing product teams

Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling products

Experience in multinational companies or high-growth environments preferred
