Systems Implementers, Inc. (SI) is seeking an Associate QA Engineer for a full-time, on-site position at Hill AFB, UT. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting testing for mission-critical databases and systems, ensuring changes meet requirements and Air Force standards. Key responsibilities include developing and executing test plans, cases, and scripts for SQL, Java, and Angular systems, performing various types of testing, documenting results, tracking defects, and assessing technical risks. The position requires expertise in Java EE (Spring, JUnit), Angular (Jasmine, Karma), and SQL databases, along with a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and DoD cybersecurity compliance. The candidate will work closely with software engineers and collaborate to ensure smooth deployments.

Overview: Systems Implementers, Inc. (SI) is a contracted implementation consulting firm performing work at Hill AFB in Utah. The Associate QA Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting testing activities to validate changes to mission-critical databases and associated systems. This role ensures that new requirements, software updates, and configuration changes are implemented accurately, function as intended, and maintain operational readiness for all affected users across the installation. The applicant will also have the opportunity to be mentored by an exceptional team of engineers with experience in a variety of industries. This is a full-time, on-site position. Remote work is not available, and the applicant will be required to report to the designated work location during regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with multiple teams of Software Engineers to:
  • Maintain and develop JUnit and Jasmine + Karma testing platforms
  • Perform test case peer reviews to ensure adherence to testing standards
  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for SQL, Java, and Angular systems.
  • Perform functional,regression, and integration testing both manually and using JUnit and Jasmine + Karma testing frameworks
  • Validate that system modifications meet documented requirements and comply with Air Force standards, security protocols, and operational needs.
  • Document test results, track defects, and coordinate with development teams on issues.
  • Collaborate with others to clarify functionality and ensure smooth deployment of updates.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity and information assurance policies during testing activities.
  • Provide technical risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in post-implementation reviews.

# Required Skills and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Expertise with Java EE, specifically Spring and JUnit
  • Expertise with Angular 15+, specifically using Jasmine + Karma
  • Expertise with Oracle SQL or Postgres SQL
  • Experience in software testing, preferably in a DoD or government environment
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, defect tracking tools, and test management systems
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL queries,and data validation techniques
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, system requirements,and functional specifications
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to pass a DoD Background check
  • Ability to work on-site at Hill Air Force Base

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

- Experience working on Agile software development projects (e.g. Sprint, Kanban, etc.)
- Experience designing Unit, Integration, and Regression test suites
- Certification in any of: CSSLP, CISSP, CASP, or Scrum Master
