Role summary

The Head of Software Engineering will lead and manage the entire software engineering department, defining and implementing strategies, goals, and best practices. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions, managing departmental budgets, resources, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will drive the adoption of modern technologies like cloud and enterprise architecture, collaborating with stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with business objectives and establishing processes for continuous improvement in efficiency and quality. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership, are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the software engineering department, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
  • Define and implement engineering strategies, goals, and best practices
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and project timelines
  • Drive adoption of modern technologies, including cloud and enterprise architecture
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with business objectives
  • Establish processes to improve efficiency, quality, and overall business outcomes

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 5+ years of leadership or management experience
  • Strong expertise in cloud technologies (preferably Azure), enterprise architecture, and full-stack development
  • Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and project management capabilities
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
