
Business Intelligence Data Engineer
Role summary
Seeking a Business Intelligence Data Engineer with at least ten years of progressive IM/IT experience, including significant hands-on responsibility in a cloud-based environment supporting enterprise reporting or analytics solutions. The role requires demonstrated experience with healthcare data at an enterprise level, translating business needs into technical BI/data engineering solutions, and designing/building modern data platforms like data warehouses or lakehouses. Expertise in data security, privacy controls, and data quality/reliability is essential. Experience delivering solutions within structured environments (Agile/Scrum/Waterfall) and understanding clinical workflows are also key requirements.
University degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive IM/IT experience, including significant hands‑on responsibility for data engineer or business intelligence developer in a cloud‑based environment, supporting enterprise reporting or analytics solutions.
Demonstrated experience working with healthcare data (hospital and/or community), at a multi‑facility or enterprise level. Demonstrated experience collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to translate business needs into technically sound data engineering or BI solutions.
Demonstrated experience designing, building, and operating modern data platforms that support enterprise reporting and analytics, including data warehouses or lakehouses using layered architectures (e.g., curated ingestion, dimensional models).
Demonstrated experience working with CIS data structures and reporting environments, with sufficient understanding of clinical workflows to accurately interpret, validate, and troubleshoot data outputs.
Demonstrated ability to implement data security and privacy controls, including role‑based access, data masking, encryption, auditing, and privacy‑by‑design practices aligned with healthcare regulatory expectations.
Demonstrated experience delivering data engineering and BI solutions within structured delivery environments (Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall), clearly articulating role, scope, and outcomes. Demonstrated experience implementing data quality and reliability controls, including validation rules, reconciliation checks, anomaly detection, and data profiling to support trusted reporting.
