AI Engineer
Role summary
Teserac is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to design, build, and deploy intelligent systems for their AI-native platform, neuron™. This role focuses on applied AI in production environments, involving the full AI development lifecycle from prototyping to production support. Responsibilities include developing AI-powered applications, integrating LLM APIs, building RAG pipelines, creating evaluation frameworks, and implementing AI system monitoring. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in software engineering, Python proficiency, and experience with LLM APIs, with preferred experience in AI agent architectures and orchestration frameworks.
About the Role
Teserac is building neuron™, a unified AI-native platform for data center observability, intelligence, and workflow automation. neuron™ processes real-time telemetry from thousands of sensors, meters, and control systems across heterogeneous data center environments, thereby giving infrastructure owners and operators the visibility to monitor, analyze, automate, and proactively manage power operations with full situational awareness. An embedded AI teammate serves as every operator's always-on co-pilot: detecting anomalies, correlating events, and surfacing recommendations 24/7.
We are seeking a motivated AI/ML Engineer to design, build, and deploy intelligent systems that power Teserac’s AI-native operational platform.
You will work across the full AI development lifecycle, from prototyping and integration to evaluation, observability, and production support. You will collaborate closely with the existing development team and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable AI-driven systems that directly impact mission-critical infrastructure.
This is not a research-only role. This is applied AI in production environments.
Why You Would Be a Good Fit for This Role
You will be a strong fit if:
- You enjoy building production AI systems, not just prototypes
- You care about evaluation, benchmarking, and system reliability
- You think in systems, not just models
- You are comfortable working across ambiguity in an early-stage environment
- You like shipping quickly and iterating in real-world deployments
- You are excited by infrastructure, not just consumer applications
What You Will Work On
- Multi-agent orchestration systems
- LLM-driven anomaly detection and triage workflows
- Retrieval-augmented knowledge systems for operations
- Predictive maintenance and health forecasting models
- AI observability, evaluation, and performance benchmarking
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered applications and automation workflows
- Integrate and optimize large language model APIs for production use cases
- Build and refine retrieval and knowledge-augmentation pipelines
- Develop evaluation frameworks to benchmark AI system performance
- Implement monitoring, tracing, and debugging capabilities for AI systems
- Contribute to AI architecture decisions and production hardening
- Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI/ML landscape

- 2+ year of professional experience in AI/ML
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Solid software engineering fundamentals (testing, version control, CI/CD)
- Experience working with LLM APIs in applied contexts
- Daily use of AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.)
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Adopting of AI-assisted workflows for personal and professional productivity
Preferred
- Experience designing AI agent architectures
- Familiarity with multi-agent systems
- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar orchestration frameworks
- Experience with vector databases and embedding pipelines
- Exposure to ML training or fine-tuning
- Experience in observability or monitoring systems
- Background in data center infrastructure, DevOps, or distributed systems
