Sign up to see compensation estimateThe Arc Montgomery County has a vacancy for a full time energetic and detail-oriented person to perform routine and specialized administrative duties in the Human Resources Department.
Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources & Staff Development, the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the coordination and maintenance of a variety of administrative functions which are essential to the smooth operation of the Human Resources Department.
WORK PERFORMED
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records. Create new employee human resources files and file documents into all human resources files as needed.
- Assist applicants and employees in applying for available positions.
- Assist with pre-employment requirement of new employees; testing of new hires as required by the Maryland Board of Nurses as needed.
- Process Form I-9 documents with E-Verify regarding employment eligibility (maintain Form I-9 files); and assist with criminal background checks.
- Follow-up as needed with new hires after Orientation class to assist in completion of pre-employment requirements.
- Responsible for typing, creating documents and other clerical duties.
- Process and submit expense vouchers to the Finance Department.
- Perform annual driving record check for employees per agency’s personnel policy requirements.
- Complete and return employment verifications and reference checks for current and former employees; also responsible for responding to other routine internal and external inquiries. Also, complete employee requests for employment verification and copies of documents.
*Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.*
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency plus three years of relevant experience or A.A. degree in related field plus one year of relevant experience. 30 relevant credit hours may be substituted for one year experience.
