Jr. Data Analyst (San Juan, PR)

Description:

The Jr. Data Analyst will build business intelligence (BI) solutions, including data sets, queries, reports, dashboards, analyses, etc., to answer business questions and deliver insights from data in a way that is easily delivered by internal stakeholders. Work closely with the business to gain an understanding of business goals and objectives to build BI solutions that enable effective, data-driven business decisions, while delivering end products on schedule. The ideal person can generate complex dashboarding, reports and conduct analysis using BI/visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Excel, and/or QuickSight.

Job Duties:

• Write and run SQL queries within SQL Server environments using functions such as SELECT, FROM, WHERE, JOINS, GROUP BY’s, and Comon Table Expressions (CTE’s) / subqueries.
• Work on both data analysis and visualization and back-end basic troubleshooting, writing scripts to fetch data, etc., for reports, analyses, or dashboards using Tableau.
• Work with cross functional teams to provide support to Customer Operations Team to guarantee that the accurate data is effectively processed and analyzed to understand business needs, customer behavior, and maintain key essential metrics.
• Create reports and dashboards and present findings/interpretations of data to executives detailing impact on business in order to assist with making strategic business decisions.
• Collaborate with corporate BI & IT teams and systems’ data owners to ensure alignment to correct data sources, data pipelines, and data hosting and processing technologies.
• Continuously monitor the performance and usage of existing BI solutions and proactively address any data discrepancies and issues
• Map and document existing data sources, define and standardize data dictionaries to ensure scalability in our data architecture and alignment to industry data practices
• Document product and user journeys/flows in addition to gathering, analyzing and documenting business requirements, process flows, and transfer knowledge to the development team with Agile environments.
• Identify improvement opportunities in enterprise operations that can be addressed using BI and analytics-based solutions.

Education & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (written, verbal, reading)
• 1-2+ years’ experience with BI & visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Excel, QuickSight)
• Strong understanding of MS Excel functions
• Previous experience with SQL Server database and SQL queries is required
• Ability to structure, analyze, and contextualize vast, unstructured or incomplete data in the context of business problems and drive business impact

Plus:

• Experience in telecommunications or large-scale enterprise data environments is a plus
• Programming in Python and/or R nice to have
• Experience working in AWS data environments is a plus
• Previous experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus

Pay: From $1.00 per year
