Role summary

The Operations Supervisor is a first-line people leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of a defined value stream in a manufacturing or production environment. This role ensures teams operate safely, meet schedule targets, and deliver high-quality output. The supervisor manages Team Leads and Operators, partners with the Operations Manager on continuous improvement, and maintains flow. Key responsibilities include leading daily production, coaching staff, monitoring performance metrics, coordinating with support departments, enforcing safety and standard work, and supporting team development and issue resolution. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with specific experience in manufacturing leadership and proficiency in digital tools.

The Operations Supervisor is a first-line people leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of a defined value stream. The Operations Supervisor ensures that all teams operate safely, meet takt time and schedule targets, and deliver high-quality output in alignment with KPIs. This role manages multiple Team Leads and Operators and partners closely with the Operations Manager to identify constraints, support continuous improvement, and maintain flow across the work center.

Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Surrey offices and does not offer remote work. This role will report into an Operations Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Lead daily execution of production activities in the assigned work center to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency targets.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate Team Leads and Operators, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
  • Ensure adherence to daily build schedules and takt time; escalate risks to production targets to the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor and track performance against key metrics (output, defects, rework, attendance, downtime) and lead Tier 2 daily management meetings.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Materials, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure work center readiness (materials, tools, documents, etc.).
  • Enforce safety protocols, 5S practices, standard work, and compliance with operational policies.
  • Support onboarding, cross-training, and upskilling of team members in partnership with Learning & Development.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for issues impacting quality, delivery, or safety.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or a related degree. Five years of additional relative experience, including demonstrated leadership, in lieu of a degree will also be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including 1+ years in a formal or informal leadership role.
  • Experience with takt time, standard work, visual management, and daily tier meetings.
  • Proficiency in basic digital tools (ERP, Excel, production dashboards).
  • Strong people leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization.

  • Understanding of Lean, 5S, and visual factory principles
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced production environment
  • Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

    [Compensation Range: CAD $38.46 - $55.30/hr]
