Senior Product Manager
Role summary
Vesco Medical is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive product demand and lead commercial efforts in their small, start-up medical device business. This multifaceted role focuses on marketing, customer interaction, and ensuring the right message reaches prospective customers. The position requires a strong understanding of business and technical processes, with responsibilities spanning marketing communications, campaign management, content creation, sales support, forecasting, pricing, market research, and product innovation. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree, 2-4 years of relevant experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, and experience with ERP/CRM platforms like NetSuite or Salesforce. This is an onsite role in Columbus, OH.
The Vesco Medical Product Marketing Manager position will be responsible for managing the daily activities for building and maintaining product demand. This is a multi-faceted role in a small start-up medical device business. This individual will be responsible for providing leadership within our office for commercial efforts with a focus on marketing and customer interaction, supporting our expanding customer base. The ultimate responsibility is to ensure that we are reaching more prospective customers each day with the right message and exceptional exchange of category and product knowledge with a warm and friendly manner. This position requires a high degree of leadership and teamwork to deliver desired performance results while, keeping abreast of key benchmarking metrics and market dynamics.
Critical for the role is understanding the business and technical processes, delivering the desired system performance results while keeping abreast of key reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Communications/Promotions: (50%)
- Maintain in depth knowledge of our products, including key features to help create strong marketing campaigns
- Establish annual brand/product plans including promotional plans, convention participation and other marketing tactics
- Select correct marketing channels for campaigns, such as social media, email, or digital advertising
- Track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make adjustments as needed
- Ensure the company website is maintained and updated in a timely manner
- Ensure videos for both promotional & instructional content based on customer needs & feedback are created and kept up to date
- Set social media strategy and maintain company social media outlets
- Develop and maintain US and International sales and promotional materials including sales aids, catalogs, and convention/congress materials
- Manage annual convention calendar, company presence, booth staffing and sponsorship opportunities
- Manage new and existing, multi-lingual product label changes for all Vesco markets
- Keep abreast of industry trends and identify future product development opportunities.
Forecasting & Pricing (20%):
- Participate in monthly forecast meetings to understand our ongoing and future demands
- Monitor competitive activity
- Assist sales team and leadership with overall market pricing strategy to assure simplified, consistent pricing by market segment.
Sales Support Service: (15%)
- Provide direct support to inside sales representatives and sales team through marketing communications and sales aid development and promotional support
- Create messaging & copy for all outbound communications for prospective customer outreach
Market Research & Product Innovation (15%)
- Assist in product innovation project prioritization
- Track upcoming product launches and ensure the broader team is aware of key milestones
- Work with product development team to secure voice of customer feedback in product innovation process
- Define marketing requirements for new product development effort
- Quarterly and annual market and competitive analysis and reporting
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
:**
- Bachelor’s degree required, master in business administration preferred
- Minimum 2-4 years of medical device or related marketing, promotion or sales experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (word, excel, power point) and project mgt software
- Proficient in Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign Creative Tools
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Experience or proficiency in operating an ERP/software platform, such as NetSuite and Salesforce.
