Role summary
Vexilar, a leader in sonar fish finders, seeks an experienced UI/UX Designer to lead UI/UX and brand development for new fish finder systems and associated products. This full-time, hybrid role requires designing user-friendly interfaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting user research, and creating prototypes. Responsibilities include leading new product development projects, managing business cases, and ensuring timely launches. The ideal candidate has strong skills in visual design, UX principles, proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma), and experience developing consumer products. Vexilar, a leader in sonar fish finders and other fishing-related products, seeks an experienced User Interface Designer/Product Designer for developing new fish finder systems. This role is responsible for leading all UI/UX and brand development for the company along with supporting the design and launch of new fish finders and associated new products. The ideal candidate will be an avid fisherman with hands-on experience and a track record of developing innovative consumer products.
The Role
This is a full-time role for a User Interface Designer for our new fish finder systems. As a User Interface Designer at Vexilar Inc, you will be responsible for designing and creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for our new system. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, conduct user research, and create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes. This is a hybrid role, primarily located in our office in Bloomington, MN, with the flexibility to work one day/week remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Create user-friendly interfaces for our fish finders
- Lead new product development projects as project manager
- Develop the look and feel for our brand(s)
- Create proprietary, innovative and patentable new products
- Manage the business case for new products
- Deliver high quality, on-time new product launches
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Visual Design, Mockups, and User Interface Design
- Experience in Front-End Development
- Knowledge of User Experience (UX) principles
- Proficient in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or Figma
- Experience developing consumer products
- Hands-on experience with sonar technology and angling techniques.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
Compensation
· $80k - $120k range, based on experience
