
Lead Cook
Role summary
Wegmans is seeking a Lead Cook to join their team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding a team of cooks, ensuring consistent culinary execution, and contributing to kitchen profitability. You will assist sous chefs, maintain high standards of food safety and quality, and manage employee performance through training and feedback. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of prep or line cook experience and prior experience leading a team.

What You'll Do
- Assist the sous chefs in running the kitchen and overseeing the team
- Follow recipes, use proper knife skills, and apply cooking techniques to ensure consistency
- Share your knowledge and passion for food with customers by suggesting meal ideas using products from departments around the store
- Manage employee performance, including training, feedback and development opportunities
Requirements
- 2+ years of prep or line cook experience
- Experience leading a team
- Food safety and quality assurance knowledge
