
Lead Infrastructure Engineer
Role summary
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer for their Object Storage Engineering team. This role involves working with architecture to assess new solutions, certify releases, and recommend strategies in file and object storage. The engineer will also provide Level 2 operational support. Key responsibilities include leading technical concepts, developing system specifications, designing and testing solutions, automating processes, reviewing cloud security measures, and designing complex system upgrades. Experience with storage technologies like NetApp or Hitachi, operating systems, databases, networking, scripting languages (Python, PowerShell), and automation platforms (Ansible) is preferred. The role requires 5+ years of technology infrastructure engineering experience and 5+ years with NAS storage software and systems.
About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer within the Object Storage Engineering team.
As part of this team, you will work closely with architecture to assess new solutions, certify releases and make recommendations on go-forward strategies in the file and object storage space. You will also work closely with operational support, providing guidance and Level 2 support as needed.
This position works with a variety of technologies so experience in one or more of these areas is preferred:
- Storage: NetApp, Hitachi
- Operating Systems: Windows, VMWare, Linux
- Databases: SQL, Oracle, Mongo
- Network: Arista, Cisco, Firewalls
- Languages: Python, PowerShell
- Automation Platform: Ansible
In This Role, You Will
- Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
- Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
- Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements
- Automate processes to streamline operational efforts
- Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management and key rotations
- Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
- Design complex system upgrades
- Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
- Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of experience with NAS storage software and systems

- Advanced scripting skills specifically around automation
- Expert knowledge and understanding of technologies related to infrastructure engineering
- Ability to help remediate tough technical support issues
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of team on multiple overlapping projects
- Ability to operate effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
- Customer focused, service-oriented attitude
- Proven skills analyzing and trouble-shooting complex systems configurations
- Agile experience using Jira
- Risk management and mitigation experience
- Ability to navigate complex processes common to large technology organizations spread across many specialty focused technology disciplines
