About The Role
The Software Engineer role at CommonSpirit Health offers a remote working opportunity focused on enhancing and maintaining Salesforce-based applications. The primary objective of this position is to improve user experience by developing, configuring, testing, and deploying scalable Salesforce solutions aligned with business needs and best practices. The Software Engineer will be responsible for managing application lifecycle activities, including implementing new features, upgrading existing solutions, and ensuring seamless integration with external systems through APIs. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The candidate will lead project assignments of medium to high complexity, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely delivery. Additionally, the role may include leading product release management activities, developing test plans, performing user acceptance testing, and supporting ongoing operational activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within an Agile team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years of experience working in IT as an Application Systems Analyst or Technical Analyst
- Proficiency in Apex development, including writing scalable and efficient code (classes, triggers, batch Apex, scheduled Apex, Queueable Apex)
- Experience developing custom user interfaces using Lightning Web Components (LWC) or Aura Frameworks
- Expert-level knowledge of SOQL and SOSL for querying Salesforce data
- Ability to maintain and enhance Visualforce pages (preferred for legacy systems)
- Experience consuming and exposing web services via REST and SOAP APIs
- Knowledge of Platform Events and Change Data Capture for event-driven integrations
- Proficiency with Git or other version control systems
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Ability to write comprehensive Apex unit tests with high code coverage
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills within the Salesforce platform
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions
- Effective team collaboration skills in an Agile environment
- Preferred certifications: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I; highly desired: Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, test, and implement Salesforce solutions aligned with business requirements
- Develop robust, scalable, and maintainable Apex code and Lightning Web Components
- Perform application build and configuration management tasks, including upgrades and enhancements
- Collaborate with business users to gather and translate requirements into technical specifications
- Lead project assignments of medium to high complexity, ensuring quality and timely delivery
- Manage product lifecycle, including handling end-user enhancement requests and technical modules
- Develop and execute test plans, facilitate user acceptance testing, and create validation scripts
- Coordinate with development teams for code development and perform unit and integration testing
- Participate in peer reviews to ensure configurations meet business and technical standards
- Research and recommend best practices, tools, and methodologies for application management
- Support transition to operational teams by providing documentation and training as needed
- Lead application management activities within specific functional areas to meet project goals
- Maintain thorough knowledge of application standards, policies, and procedures
