About The Role
The Senior Data Engineer at enGen is a key member of the technical team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the organization’s data infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the efficient and reliable flow of data across multiple platforms, supporting business intelligence, analytics, and data governance initiatives. The incumbent will work closely with data analysts, engineers, and stakeholders from various departments to build and optimize data pipelines, implement data security measures, and enhance data quality. The ideal candidate is solution-oriented, adaptable, and capable of collaborating across teams to support a broad spectrum of data initiatives. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data management roles.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and data pipeline development.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and their data services.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data processes to facilitate the efficient movement and transformation of data across multiple systems.
  • Develop and optimize data models, databases, and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from IT, product, analytics, and business units to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that meet organizational needs.
  • Monitor data workflows against production schedules, provide progress updates, and report any issues or technical challenges to lead developers.
  • Implement and enforce data governance practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Design and oversee data security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data masking techniques.
  • Mentor and guide junior and intermediate data engineers, fostering skill development and technical excellence.
  • Perform data analysis and generate insights to support strategic decision-making across departments.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering, recommending innovative tools and practices.
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of data projects, from ideation and analysis to deployment and support.
