Role summary

ZelTech Software & Systems is seeking a QA / Test Engineer in Winnipeg to ensure software quality through manual and automated testing. The role involves designing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include regression, functional, integration, and performance testing, with a focus on improving software reliability and usability. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in QA, and hands-on experience with test automation tools like Selenium or Cypress, along with strong QA methodologies and bug tracking knowledge. Experience with Agile/Scrum and CI/CD pipelines is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans to ensure software quality.
  • Identify, track, and report software defects with clear documentation.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements.
  • Participate in regression, functional, integration, and performance testing.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance software reliability, usability, and performance.
  • Maintain test scripts and documentation for repeatable, high-quality testing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, bug tracking, and test management tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.

*Preferred:* Experience with Agile/Scrum development and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
