Forward Deployed AI Engineer
Role summary
ZeroDrift is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to build internal AI agents and automation, and embed with enterprise customers to ensure quick and successful integration of their AI compliance enforcement infrastructure. This hands-on, individual-contributor role requires 5+ years of production software development experience, fluency in languages like Python or TypeScript, and experience building production-ready LLM agents. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with APIs, cloud, and data flows, possess strong debugging skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced, hybrid environment in New York City.
About ZeroDrift
ZeroDrift is building the AI-native compliance enforcement infrastructure for enterprise communication. We are the first platform that enforces the rules before an AI message is ever sent, fixing violations in real time across every channel where AI speaks for the business. Everything goes out clean. Nothing dangerous comes in.
As AI starts to communicate on behalf of entire organizations, the gap between what compliance requires and what companies can actually enforce is widening fast. Every existing solution monitors after send, once the risk is already out the door. ZeroDrift enforces before send. Enforcement did not exist as a category. We created it.
Backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z speedrun), PitchDrive Ventures, Reign Ventures, and other leading investors, ZeroDrift is built by engineering and AI leaders from Microsoft, Google, and Goldman Sachs, led by a repeat AI founder.
The role
As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you keep ZeroDrift small and fast. You build the internal AI agents and automation that let a tiny team do the work of a large one, and you embed with our enterprise customers to get them live quickly. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role. You own the work and ship it yourself. You will be one of our first AI engineers, with the ownership and equity upside that come with building a new category from the ground up.
What you will own
- Build internal AI agents that handle operations, support, and go-to-market work, so we add headcount only where it creates real leverage
- Turn customer onboarding into a repeatable, mostly automated process
- Embed with early enterprise customers, integrate ZeroDrift into their stack, and hand back a clean, working deployment
- Debug live issues across APIs, data flows, and model behavior, and fix the root cause
- Carry what you learn in the field back to product and engineering
What you bring
- 5+ years writing production software, including time in customer-facing or deployment-heavy roles
- Fluent in a general-purpose language (for example Python or TypeScript) and comfortable across APIs, cloud, and data
- You have built automation or LLM agents that ran in production, not just demos
- A clear communicator who earns the trust of engineers and executives alike
- You move fast and finish
Bonus points
- Built LLM agent workflows or internal tooling at a startup
- Worked in a regulated industry such as financial services, healthcare, or insurance
- Early-stage or 0 to 1 experience
How we work
We are hyper-focused on speed of execution and on owning our work end to end. This is a full-time hybrid role: three days a week in our office at 4 World Trade Center in New York City, and the rest remote.
Benefits
Top-tier medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k).
ZeroDrift is an equal opportunity employer. You must be authorized to work in the United States.
