About Accrete

Accrete builds Knowledge Engine products that combine organizational context, human expertise, and specialized agents for consequential work across enterprises and national security.

Accrete is a dynamic and innovative company focused on transforming the future of artificial intelligence. We specialize in creating advanced AI solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights, driving real-world impact for businesses and government organizations. Our team thrives on creativity and collaboration, working together to push the boundaries of AI technology. At the core of our offerings are AI agents-autonomous systems that analyze multimodal data, generate insights, and make intelligent recommendations. These agents help businesses streamline operations, improve decision-making, and empower government entities to enhance security, intelligence, and operational efficiency.

The Role

The forward deployed engineer sits at the intersection of data strategy and operational delivery of our AI products. Customers often have a strong instinct that their data can help them protect personnel, support campaigns, be more efficient, or deliver aid more safely, but without a specialist who can get them there. FDEs turn that instinct into working capability, and they keep the effort organized, unblocked, and on track while it happens.

You will join a small, collaborative team of engineers, product managers, and fellow FDEs to put software to work on difficult, high-stakes problems, with a focus on US Government engagements. Your job is to pull scattered inputs into a single, coherent view: which problem matters most, what the data is actually saying, what the product must do, what motivates the people using it, and where real impact can be achieved. You will also own the operational health of your projects, tracking progress, resolving obstacles early, and making sure delivery lands on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

If you believe in the power of data and technology to solve hard problems, and you are equally comfortable digging into the details and bringing structure to ambiguity, we would like to talk with you.

What You Will Do

  • Work on site with customer analysts and operators to learn the key questions they must answer and the friction points that slow them down.
  • Locate and evaluate the datasets that matter most, then partner with engineers to bring them into reliable, scalable pipelines.
  • Design tailored workflows with customers for new groups of users.
  • Run training and enablement sessions so the product fits real needs and is adopted broadly enough to make a measurable difference to customer operations.
  • Share findings and recommendations with audiences from frontline analysts to senior executives.
  • Act as a first responder when problems surface, diagnosing issues and putting creative, practical fixes in place.
  • Find and clear bottlenecks, blockers, and friction so teammates can concentrate on the work they do best.
  • Build processes and tools that make better use of people, time, and resources.
  • Work with Accrete colleagues to identify process gaps, scope new initiatives, and deliver results on schedule, on budget, and at a high quality bar.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to carry lessons from the field back into Accrete's broader product offerings.
  • Prepare and present demos for current and prospective customers.
  • Evaluate opportunities in new industries and geographies as Accrete's footprint grows.
  • Draw on the team's shared expertise, build new skills where gaps exist, and act on feedback to keep growing.

What We Value

  • Comfort with open-ended problems in unstructured, fast-moving environments without over-the-shoulder support.
  • Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the instinct to spot inefficiencies and fix them quickly.
  • Clear, confident communication, including the ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, including accurate records and consistent tracking of project metrics.
  • Adaptability, self-awareness, and a willingness to learn, teach, lead, and follow as the situation requires.
  • Experience with programming, scripting, or statistical tools such as Python, R, Matlab, or SQL is a plus.
  • Experience with AI prompt engineering and agent building.

What We Require

  • A current US security clearance at the top secret level or above.
  • Willingness to travel between 25% and 40% or be on a customer site 40-75% of the time, depending on team and location.

Our Environment

FDEs work in a high-accountability, high-expectation culture where the goal is always the best possible solution. Giving, receiving, and acting on feedback is essential, and so is supporting teammates who care as much about each other as they do about Accrete's mission.
