Role summary

We are seeking an experienced GCP Platform Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires strong hands-on expertise in BigQuery, Databricks, Kubernetes, cloud architecture, cost optimization, and platform reliability. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, engineering teams, and stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions aligned with project goals, SLAs, and business requirements.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced
GCP Platform Engineer
to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires strong hands-on expertise in
BigQuery, Databricks, Kubernetes, cloud architecture, cost optimization, and platform reliability
.

The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, engineering teams, and stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions aligned with project goals, SLAs, and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and reliable GCP infrastructure.
- Architect, deploy, and support cloud-based platforms and enterprise systems.
- Manage and optimize GCP resources including
BigQuery, Databricks, Kubernetes, Compute Engine, and networking components
.
- Collaborate with Agile development teams to drive cloud adoption, migrations, and best practices.
- Analyze workloads and optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational metrics for cloud platforms.
- Conduct cloud security reviews, compliance checks, and optimization audits.
- Work directly with clients to understand business needs and deliver solutions per SoW and SLA commitments.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to internal teams.
- Partner with cloud vendors and internal stakeholders on roadmap planning and platform enhancements.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Expertise in
BigQuery, Databricks, Kubernetes (GKE)
- Experience with
data engineering, ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and data modeling
- Strong knowledge of
performance tuning and query optimization in BigQuery
- Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with
GCP monitoring/logging tools
such as Cloud Monitoring / Stackdriver
- Knowledge of
GCP billing, budgeting, and cloud cost optimization
- Strong understanding of
cloud security, governance, IAM, and compliance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience Required

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in GCP engineering / architecture roles
  • Experience working in enterprise cloud environments

Education

  • B.E / B.Tech / BCA / MCA or equivalent

Preferred Certification

- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
Certification preferred
