Role summary
Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior GCP Platform Engineer for a 9+ month remote contract role. The primary focus is on GCP platform engineering and architecture, with a strong emphasis on daily hands-on Terraform usage for GCP infrastructure builds, including Org Policies and VMs. The role involves working with hybrid cloud setups (GCP + Azure), owning automation, monitoring, security, compliance, and HA/DR. Production support and escalations in a 24/7 environment are also expected. Candidates must have strong GCP and Terraform experience, along with a proven architecture/design background. This is explicitly not a typical DevOps role.

MANDATORY (No Exceptions):
Strong GCP hands-on experience (PRIMARY SKILL)
Proven Platform Engineering + Architecture/Design background
Terraform (GCP) – must be hands-on (daily usage)
Experience working with:
GCP infrastructure builds
Org Policies, VMs
GitHub (must)

Role Expectations:
Lead design, build, and architecture of GCP environments
Drive Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) on a daily basis
Work on hybrid cloud (GCP + Azure) setups
Own automation, monitoring, security, compliance, HA/DR
Handle production support & escalations (24/7 environment)
Required Skills:

Windows/Linux Administration
Scripting: PowerShell / Bash / Python
Networking: DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls
Databases: SQL & NoSQL
Security: IAM, Key Management
