About The Role
We are currently seeking a talented UX Designer for an immediate 6-month contract position based in San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid work model. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on impactful projects within the social networking and geospatial technology domains. As a UX Designer at Pyramid Consulting, Inc., you will collaborate closely with engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to craft intuitive and innovative user experiences. Your primary focus will be on designing and refining map-based interfaces, leveraging your expertise in geo-mapping and sustainability to enhance user engagement and product functionality. You will play a pivotal role in translating complex data and user needs into compelling design solutions that align with business objectives and industry standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience working with maps, geo-mapping, or Google Maps platforms, demonstrating a deep understanding of geospatial data and user interaction. Proven experience in UX design within large technology companies, especially in Big Tech environments such as Google, Meta, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, Uber, Lyft, or Airbnb, is essential. Candidates must have a solid background in geo-sustainability initiatives and be adept at translating technical requirements into user-centered designs. Additionally, candidates should not currently be employed by or contracted with Google to meet the project’s compliance criteria. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams to effectively communicate, negotiate, and influence design intentions, ensuring alignment with technical feasibility and project goals.
- Develop and guide design specifications, including mock-ups, prototypes, and product models, to facilitate seamless implementation by development teams.
- Utilize and propose new data metrics and analytics to evaluate product impact, user engagement, and ecosystem health, fostering data-driven design decisions.
- Conduct UX testing and gather stakeholder feedback to identify areas for improvement, iteratively refining designs to enhance user experience.
- Drive design innovation by staying informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies, integrating relevant insights into your work.
- Build consensus across cross-functional teams and gain stakeholder support for design strategies, ensuring alignment with overall product vision.
- Communicate design approaches clearly to team members and stakeholders, addressing potential challenges proactively and fostering collaborative problem-solving.
