About The Role
The Cyber Security Engineer I at Dawn Foods is a vital entry-level position responsible for safeguarding the company's network, systems, and personnel from cyber threats. This role involves supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity measures, including analyzing security logs, assisting in vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with security policies. Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED. An associate’s degree in computer science, cyber defense/security, information technology, or a related field is preferred, along with at least one year of experience in cybersecurity, desktop support, or networking. Alternatively, candidates with three years of relevant IT experience will also be considered. Certifications such as Cisco, CompTIA, Microsoft, or ISC2, or progress toward obtaining them, are advantageous. Familiarity with computer programming or scripting languages like Python or PowerShell is preferred. Candidates should have experience working collaboratively in team environments and possess excellent troubleshooting skills. Customer service experience is also desirable.
Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Engineer I will be responsible for supporting and implementing cybersecurity solutions aligned with organizational policies and standards. Key responsibilities include assisting in the evaluation, selection, installation, and configuration of hardware and software with security considerations in mind. The role involves analyzing network, server, and application logs to identify security incidents and trends, as well as recommending improvements to network, system, and application architectures. The engineer will help review and update cybersecurity policies, respond to audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments, and investigate new security technologies for potential integration. Additionally, the role includes supporting legal investigations, compliance reporting, risk assessments of third-party vendor solutions, and conducting cybersecurity training and testing for staff. The ability to multitask and adapt quickly to a high-paced IT environment is essential for success in this role.
