About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our dynamic team at TCNS. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity solutions across multiple client environments. Your expertise will help strengthen both internal and client-facing security postures, ensuring compliance with key frameworks such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and CIS Controls. You will serve as a technical security expert and compliance advisor, working closely with internal IT, service delivery, and client success teams to promote best practices and elevate security maturity levels.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or systems engineering, preferably within an MSP or multi-tenant environment. A strong understanding of security frameworks including CMMC, NIST 800-171, and CIS is essential. Candidates should have practical experience with security solutions such as EDR, SIEM, email filtering, DLP, IDS/IPS, and MFA. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Defender, Azure, and Intune is highly desirable. Additionally, proficiency in scripting and automation tools like PowerShell or equivalent, along with experience in producing compliance documentation, audit evidence, and risk assessments, is required. Excellent communication skills are necessary to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, CEH are preferred and will enhance candidacy.
Responsibilities
As a Cybersecurity Engineer at TCNS, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining security tools and infrastructure, including EDR, SIEM, MFA, patch management, vulnerability scanning, email security, and firewalls, for both internal systems and client environments.
  • Leading threat detection and response efforts by analyzing alerts, investigating incidents, and coordinating remediation activities to minimize risks and impacts.
  • Performing regular security assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential security gaps.
  • Developing and maintaining secure configurations and baseline standards across systems, applications, and network equipment to ensure consistent security posture.
  • Serving as the primary technical lead for compliance initiatives such as CMMC, NIST 800-171, and other relevant standards, including building and maintaining documentation like SSPs and POAMs.
  • Conducting internal and client security audits, risk assessments, and readiness reviews to ensure ongoing compliance and security resilience.
  • Supporting clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with federal and industry security frameworks, providing expert guidance and strategic recommendations.
  • Implementing and managing security automation systems to streamline monitoring, incident response, and compliance reporting.
  • Managing integrations between cybersecurity tools and MSP management platforms, developing dashboards, and generating reports for security metrics and compliance status.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to embed cybersecurity best practices into all MSP services and projects, fostering a security-aware culture.
  • Providing technical mentorship and leadership to technicians and engineers, enhancing team capabilities and knowledge sharing.
  • Educating clients on cybersecurity hygiene, conducting security reviews, and participating in client-facing meetings to communicate security posture and improvements effectively.
