About The Role
The UI/UX Designer at Maximus will play a vital role in shaping user-centered digital experiences for government systems. This position involves translating complex mission and functional requirements into intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling interfaces. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams to create wireframes, prototypes, and design standards that meet accessibility standards such as Section 508. The role demands a deep understanding of user research methodologies, workflow analysis, and usability testing to ensure optimal system usability and user satisfaction. As part of the Technology and Consulting Services (TCS) team, the UI/UX Designer will contribute to high-impact projects that support national security and public service initiatives, working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess an active Secret clearance and a minimum of five years of experience in UI/UX design or related fields. A bachelor’s degree in web design, human-computer interaction, or a similar discipline may substitute for two years of experience. Proven proficiency with UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, or Adobe XD is essential, alongside a solid understanding of HTML and CSS principles. Demonstrated experience working on government or enterprise-level projects, with a focus on accessibility compliance, is highly preferred. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive UI/UX design support for government systems, ensuring designs are user-friendly, accessible, and aligned with mission requirements.
- Conduct user research, workflow analysis, and usability evaluations to inform design decisions and validate system effectiveness.
- Create and maintain UI/UX artifacts such as wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design standards, ensuring adherence to government accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508).
- Collaborate with government and contractor teams throughout the development lifecycle, supporting system integration, testing, and change management activities.
- Develop detailed UI/UX documentation and deliverables to facilitate seamless communication and implementation across project teams.
- Stay updated on emerging UI/UX trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve design quality and efficiency.
