Role summary

AlayaCare is seeking an iOS Developer with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) experience to join their Mobile team in Montreal. This full-time hybrid role involves designing, coding, testing, and debugging complex iOS applications, contributing to the technical roadmap, and mentoring other developers. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related field, 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a deep background in iOS development, and experience managing complex, enterprise-level iOS applications. About the Role

We are seeking an iOS Developer to join our Engineering division in our Mobile team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will design, code, test, and debug complex iOS software with a high level of quality, as a full-time member of a feature development team.

As a team member, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners, designers, and fellow engineers to scope, sequence, and deliver complex, enterprise-level iOS applications. You’ll also contribute to AlayaCare’s product-wide technical roadmap, mentor other developers, and help evolve our testing practices.

What You’ll Do

Design, code, test, and debug complex software with a high level of quality, spending 80%+ of your time coding as a full-time member of a feature development team.

Provide technical leadership for your team, and help improve your colleagues’ skills through code reviews, technical mentoring, role-modelling, coaching, and knowledge-sharing.

Lead technical innovation in the areas of component re-use, extensibility, maintainability, and scalability.

Monitor your applications in production, and proactively identify and fix issues clients are encountering.

Contribute to defining and implementing the product-wide technical roadmap, ensuring the success of technical cross-team initiatives and the responsible adoption of new technologies aligned with industry trends.

Participate in a support queue rotation (designed to respect personal time) to support team software.

Identify gaps in product requirements and work with Product Owners to design features that meet client needs.

Plan, implement, and execute end-to-end automated tests that validate good-quality results, and help evolve AlayaCare’s testing practices.

Help team members understand the core concepts and tools of their craft.

Anticipate problems, recognize barriers, and proactively raise concerns to management and senior members of the technical organization.

What You Bring to the Team

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer engineering, science, or any related fields.

4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a deep background in iOS development.

Experience managing complex, enterprise-level, multi-screen iOS applications supporting a large non-technical user base.

Awareness of contemporary industry trends in technology, design patterns, and software development tooling and practices.

Experience making difficult technical decisions in ambiguous situations.

Strong written and spoken English communication skills, targeting both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience with KMM and test automation is a nice-to-have.

Bilingual in French and English

Location and Work Model

This role is based in Montreal. At AlayaCare, our hybrid model includes 2 set in-office collaboration days/week, and it is expected that team members are present in the office on those days to foster connection, innovation, and teamwork.
