Founding Product Manager
Role summary
Alpaca Health is seeking a Founding Product Manager to transform their AI-native platform, serving providers, families, referral partners, and payers. This role requires a builder who can rapidly prototype using AI tools like Claude Code and Cursor, drive product decisions through execution, and own growth and conversion metrics. The ideal candidate has 3-6 years of product management experience, strong technical depth in AI systems or data architecture, and a track record of launching products from inception. This is an onsite, NYC-based position focused on company-building and delivering impactful solutions in autism care.
## About Alpaca Health
Alpaca Health is enabling clinicians to become entrepreneurs, starting in autism care.
We help clinicians launch and scale their own clinics by providing AI-powered software, payer contracting, and full back-office infrastructure. Our goal is simple: shift power in healthcare away from large consolidated entities and back to clinicians.
We are growing quickly and expanding into new states this year. The problems we are solving are operationally complex, high-stakes, and deeply meaningful for families.
We've raised over $14M in funding from early-stage investors like Core Innovations Venture Capital, Adverb Ventures, and South Park Commons, and are building for long-term category leadership. More importantly, we're serving hundreds of patients, while growing 30% MoM.
## Role: Founding Product Manager
We are hiring a Founding Product Manager to evolve Alpaca Health from a provider-focused EHR into an AI-native platform that powers every side of our market: providers, families, referral partners, and even payers.
We are not looking for a traditional PM.
You will not just write specs or run standups.
You will prototype with AI, pressure-test ideas, and drive decisions through execution, not just talk.
## What You’ll Do
Use AI to prototype fast
Build prototypes using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI-native tooling.
Show, not tell—validate ideas through working demos, not specs.
Own growth and conversion
Instrument and optimize the full funnel—from referral intake match session.
Run experiments to improve conversion rates and reduce time to care.
Define the patient experience
Design the end-to-end journey for families, from first touch to ongoing care.
Ensure tight coordination between patient experience and provider workflows.
Build the provider growth platform
Create systems that help providers onboard quickly and scale their practice.
Focus on intelligent scheduling, staffing, and utilization to drive revenue and outcomes.
Do whatever builds the best product
Some days will be prototyping. Some will be deep in systems. Some will be in the field, talking to customers.
You will own outcomes, not tickets.
## Who You Are
You are extremely ambitious and want to build category-defining products.
You are AI-native—you already use tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or similar to build and prototype.
You are technical enough to understand how systems actually work (APIs, data pipelines, AI/LLM systems).
You are a builder—you default to creating, not coordinating.
You are a strong product thinker with clear opinions and high judgment.
You are obsessed with customers and spend time deeply understanding their workflows.
You thrive in ambiguity and move quickly without waiting for perfect clarity.
You are not a project manager—you make decisions and drive outcomes.
## Requirements
3–6 years of product management experience (B2B SaaS or AI-native preferred)
Strong technical depth in AI systems, data architecture, or developer-adjacent environments
Experience using AI tools to rapidly prototype and iterate
Track record of owning products from 0 1
Ability to bridge engineering and business teams effectively
NYC-based candidates (or open to relocation). We work 5 days a week in person.
