Role summary
AlphaGov, a public-sector consulting firm, seeks experienced SAP Public Sector Consultants for remote, project-based engagements. Responsibilities include supporting SAP pursuits, mapping agency processes to SAP modules (finance, procurement, payroll, grants, funds management), planning configuration, testing, data conversion, and cutover. Consultants will also assist in proposal development by translating agency requirements into staffing approaches and past-performance narratives, advise on integrations with legacy systems, and prepare training materials. This role requires hands-on SAP delivery experience in a government or public-sector organization and comfort working as a 1099 collaborator with occasional travel.

This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal.
AlphaGov is seeking an SAP Public Sector Consultant for remote, project-based work with cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related public agencies. There is no guaranteed assignment.
What you'll do:
Support SAP public-sector pursuits and, when a contract is awarded, the related functional workstreams
Map agency finance, procurement, payroll, or grants processes to SAP public-sector modules
Plan configuration, testing, data conversion, and cutover for the modules you know
Translate agency requirements into a staffing approach and past-performance narrative for proposals, only when the candidate has authorized naming
Advise on integrations between SAP and legacy finance, HR, or procurement systems
Prepare training and go-live readiness materials for agency users
Flag gaps in scope, data, or agency readiness before a proposal commits to them

Required:
- Hands-on SAP delivery for a government or other public-sector organization, as a functional lead or senior consultant
- Depth in at least one of SAP public-sector finance, procurement, payroll, grants, or funds management
- Experience with testing, data conversion, and cutover on an SAP project
- Able to explain your work in a proposal narrative without overstating your role
- Comfortable as a 1099 project-based collaborator, with occasional client travel
Nice to have:
- SAP work for a city, county, state, school system, or utility
- A current or prior SAP certification relevant to the modules above
