Role summary
Altasciences is seeking an Animal Facilities Technician to perform general facility cleaning and support for the Husbandry department within the vivarium. Responsibilities include cleaning, stocking PPE, assisting with equipment transfers, performing minor repairs, and operating equipment. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude. No prior experience is necessary.
About The Role
As an Animal Facilities Tech, you will perform general facility cleaning and support for the Husbandry department within the vivarium.
What You'll Do Here
- Perform general facility cleaning (e.g., mopping, trash removal, floor scrubber, etc.) and laundry.
- Stocking PPE storage and usage areas.
- Assist with transferring vivarium equipment.
- Perform minor facility repairs.
- Operation of the cage/rack washer.Comply with the appropriate safety and study requirements as described in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and governmental regulations.
- Comply with appropriate safety and health practices including personal protective equipment and barrier requirements, as applicable.

- Ability to effectively comprehend and communicate (verbal and written) in a professional manner.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a fast-paced environment.
