Role summary
We are seeking a motivated Infrastructure Deployment Engineer II with deep technical expertise in advanced routing protocols, network design, and troubleshooting. This role involves designing and implementing solutions for complex networking challenges, influencing technical decisions, and acting as a subject matter expert. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in network engineering, including large-scale enterprise network deployment and design, with a strong understanding of routing protocols like BGP and MPLS. Responsibilities include developing implementation standards, producing technical documentation, mentoring junior engineers, and driving best practices. Experience with Cisco or Aruba equipment and network circuit provisioning is preferred.
Our ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise at a CCNP level (or equivalent demonstrated experience) in advanced routing protocols, network design principles, and sophisticated troubleshooting methodologies. They bring a comprehensive understanding of enterprise network architecture and interdependencies, enabling them to adapt existing architectures to new challenges and create solutions where no established patterns exist. They communicate complex technical concepts effectively across teams and influence technical decisions through strong argumentation and data-driven analysis.
In this role, you will operate independently on challenging problems, seeking guidance only for novel situations with broad organizational impact. You will influence process improvements across teams, develop implementation standards, and produce documentation that becomes long-term reference material. You will provide technical guidance to engineers across teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the development of standards and best practices that shape technical direction.
Infrastructure Deployment Engineers at this level are expected to identify systemic problems, propose architectural improvements, and consider long-term maintenance and scalability in their approach. They drive adoption of best practices within their domain and influence team technical direction through SME expertise. The desire and ability to work in an ambiguous, collaborative environment — solving undefined problems and creating new solutions — is essential for success.
Basic Qualifications: - BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience, coupled with certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent demonstrated practical expertise + industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a network engineer with hands-on deployment and design of large-scale enterprise networks, including complex infrastructure installations, hardware integration, and advanced network configurations.
- 5+ years' experience with advanced routing protocols (BGP, MPLS) and network design principles across multiple infrastructure domains (networking, storage, server, OS platforms).
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex, undefined problems independently and act as a technical escalation point for peers.
- 3+ years' experience developing implementation standards, influencing technical decisions across teams, and producing reference-quality technical documentation. Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years' hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, including advanced configuration and troubleshooting across multiple domains.
- Experience designing and implementing complex network solutions that address multi-faceted challenges across enterprise environments.
- Experience working with data centers and telecom carriers to procure, deliver, and activate network circuits at scale.
- Experience administering, deploying, or supporting Cisco or Aruba wireless network equipment in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated track record of influencing technical decisions through data-driven analysis, acting as a recognized SME in specific network domains.
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical guidance across teams.
