THE ROLE:

AMD's Product Development Group is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to help deliver industry-leading datacenter GPU solutions powering AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing workloads. In this role, you will partner with engineering, validation, manufacturing, and product teams to develop scalable manufacturing test solutions, drive automation initiatives, improve product quality and yield, and support the successful ramp of cutting-edge datacenter products. This is an opportunity to work on complex system-level challenges while influencing manufacturing readiness for some of AMD's most advanced technologies.

THE PERSON:

You are a collaborative and technically curious engineer with a strong background in datacenter system testing, hardware validation, and debug. You thrive in cross-functional environments, enjoy solving complex problems, and bring a detail-oriented approach to improving product quality and manufacturing efficiency. You are comfortable working independently, passionate about GPU technology, and experienced with Linux-based development and automation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and deploy manufacturing test strategies for new board and system products.
• Define, validate, and optimize hardware, software, and diagnostic test solutions.
• Debug complex system, hardware, software, and manufacturing issues.
• Drive test automation initiatives using Python and related tools.
• Partner with design teams to provide DFT feedback and improve manufacturability.
• Lead quality, yield, and cost-reduction initiatives while mentoring junior engineers.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Manufacturing test development for datacenter, board, or system-level products.
• Automated test equipment (ATE), diagnostics, test patterns, and validation methodologies.
• Python development and Linux/Unix scripting environments.
• Hardware and system debug across platform, device, or manufacturing domains.
• Knowledge of PCIe, BMC, IPMI, thermal solutions, and datacenter architectures.
• Experience collaborating with global engineering teams in Agile development environments.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Advanced degree or relevant industry certifications are a plus.
