You’ll confidently guide adopters through the adoption process, create meaningful matches, and support the animals in our care.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome and assist visitors, responding to all requests with warmth and professionalism.
  • Coordinate family and animal matches through thoughtful conversations and first introductions.
  • Counsel adopters on pet ownership, animal behavior, Fear Free handling, and successful transitions into the home.
  • Provide animals with a clean living space, physical activity, and mental enrichment using Fear Free methods daily.
  • Maintain accurate animal, financial, and adopter records.

What you bring

  • Genuine enjoyment working in a highly visible, public-facing role.
  • Working knowledge of domestic animal behavior, illnesses, and body language.
  • Compassionate and clear interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt quickly, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation.

What to expect

  • A flexible schedule, including weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings, as well as nights, weekends, and non-standard hours as needed.
  • Physically active, hands-on work, indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
  • Regular interactions with animals of varying species and temperaments.
  • Shared workspaces and a collaborative culture.

What you’ll love

  • Compensation of $16.00 per hour.
  • Immediate accrual of Paid Time Off hours.
  • Saving for retirement with our 401(k) program.
  • Our Employee Assistance Program services to help you manage life’s curveballs.
  • An Adoption Discount because love at first sight happens a lot around here.
  • Being part of the moment when an animal and family finally find each other.
