Role summary

Belltower Fund Group, AngelList's fund services division, is seeking a Director of Fund Services to lead operations and drive expansion of their institutional offering. This role involves integrating AI into fund administration, redesigning workflows, and improving service delivery. The Director will own quality, client experience, and team performance, leading experienced managers and collaborating with Product and Engineering. The ideal candidate has experience scaling complex operations with financial, legal, tax, or compliance consequences, and is excited about leveraging AI in private markets. This is a hands-on leadership position focused on improving operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

Belltower was formed in 2019 as AngelList’s native fund administrator. Belltower provides fund administration services to the venture space. Our coverage spans syndicates, venture funds, and first-of-their-kind rolling funds. Our full-service fund management offering streamlines the complexity of running a fund by integrating financial reporting, tax, compliance, portfolio management, and other services that managers typically have to cobble together from multiple vendors. Our services, combined with AngelList’s software, enable us to launch and scale a fund efficiently, allowing fund managers to focus on what they do best: investing.

Since 2019, Belltower has supported 27k+ funds representing over $25B in assets under administration, leveraging AngelList’s fund admin software to power the service layer for funds launched on the AngelList platform.

About the Role:

This role will lead Belltower's combined Fund Services and GP Services organization, and report to the Funds General Manager. The organization includes about 40 people across onshore and offshore teams. You’ll own the full lifecycle for Funds and GP services, and build the operations needed for larger institutional clients.

You will:

Lead operational changes to make AI tooling work in practice: team responsibilities, controls, training, and measures of success.

Develop managers, set clear accountability, and build the service capabilities needed for larger clients.

Improve delivery times and productivity.

Resolve root causes of errors and prevent repeat incidents.

Use operational evidence to prioritize workflow changes and safe, useful automation with Product and Engineering.

Keep the client’s experience at the center of operational decisions.

You may be a good fit if you:

Have built and scaled complex operations with financial, legal, tax, or compliance consequences.

Are excited by the opportunity to reshape a complex service business with AI.

Can explain the scale you managed and the results you delivered.

Have led managers through meaningful change.

Combine sound risk judgment with strong client instincts and practical technology experience.

Have built or run strong control environments: preventive and detective controls, clear ownership, and evidence that holds up to audit.

Can learn a complex domain quickly while working through experienced managers.

Fund administration experience is valuable, but we are open to adjacent backgrounds with a clear record of learning quickly. A CPA is not required.
