Role summary
Antora Energy is seeking a Sr. NPI Engineer to drive product concepts to full production. This hands-on role involves defining build sequences, designing processes, and creating custom tooling and equipment. You will collaborate closely with design engineering and production teams, taking ownership from concept through analysis, detailed design, and release. Responsibilities include developing next-generation production processes, leading workcell design, supporting new factory launches by translating production needs into facility requirements, and integrating production test processes. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering with 5+ years of NPI engineering experience, including personal design of tooling and equipment. Strong analytical, DFM, lean manufacturing, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential. Experience launching new factories and developing test systems is desired.
Antora Energy delivers affordable, reliable energy to industry, data centers, and the grid. Our thermal batteries turn low-cost electricity into always-on heat and power, without supply-constrained critical minerals or multi-year construction timelines.
We are growing our company with people who put team and mission first, value connection through laughter and joy, and work with humility and openness. We are committed to building a diverse, passionate, and creative team dedicated to a future powered by abundant, clean, low-cost energy.
Position Summary
Antora is scaling production of our thermal batteries, which store renewable electricity as high-temperature heat and deliver it to industrial customers as zero-carbon heat and power, while designing the next generation of the product and the gigafactory that will build it.
You will serve as the primary tooling and equipment design engineer within the NPI and Manufacturing Engineering team: the engineer who personally designs, analyzes, and releases the fixtures, build tooling, and lifting and handling equipment that production runs on. You work from first principles, with hand calculations and FEA carrying each design from load path through proof load, on equipment that handles heavy industrial hardware. Your tooling will set production rates, enable new product launches, and shape the next-generation build process before the factory around it is committed.
This is a broad role inside a growing team. Beyond the design work, you will help take products from concept to a running process: defining build sequences, supporting workstation and process development, writing work instructions, and getting it all running on the floor alongside the technicians who use it. The engineers here carry both halves: the design authority and the manufacturing follow-through.
