Role summary
Apple's Display Module Technology (DMT) team is seeking a Module Process Engineer to develop and integrate advanced display module manufacturing processes. This role involves end-to-end process ownership from concept to volume manufacturing, addressing complex design challenges. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in a relevant field and 10 years of experience in process development and integration, particularly in EQ/Process development, precision mechanical systems, and failure analysis. Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. or M.S. with 5+ years of experience and expertise in micro-assembly, optical calibration, lens system design, adhesives, actuators, and spring systems.
Description
As a Module Process Engineer, you’ll drive the display or optical module process end to end, from proof-of-concept to volume manufacturing.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. Degree minimum in Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 10 years of relevant industry experience. - Experience in EQ/Process development in Camera, Sensor, MEMS, precision optics, Semiconductor, or other related industries. - Experience in precision mechanical systems, precision assembly, flexures, and calibration systems. - Experience with thermal analysis, stress analysis, and multi-physics simulation tools. - Experience in failure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and problem-solving for product yield and quality issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or M.S. degree in Physics, Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in a related field is preferred. - Experience in micro-assembly processes, including image capturing, precision handling, glue dispensing, curing, welding, and precision fastening technologies. - Experience with force-controlled precision adjustment mechanisms such as fine-pitch screws, flexure stages, and clamps, along with best practices for locking alignment after active alignment. - Experience in spring system engineering, like post-assembly stiffness adjustment, real-time spring constant tuning, and spring solutions for auto-thermal compensation. - Experience with defining adhesives/glues requirements, characterizing properties, and developing processes. - Experience with various actuators, including piezoelectric, electrothermal, electrostatic, electromagnetic, and voice-coil. - Experience with optical calibration algorithm and active alignment optimization methods. - Experience with lens system design and process, and optical spec (tilt, decenter, focus, wavefront error, etc.).
