Role summary
Apple is seeking a Display Engineer to develop displays for iPhone products. This role involves collaborating on component and system-level flat panel displays, acting as a liaison between internal teams (system design, EE, ME, process, panel design) and external suppliers. Responsibilities include defining display module specifications, leading cross-functional teams, hands-on characterization of electro-optical performance, data analysis, scripting for automation, failure analysis, and ensuring display goals are met throughout the product lifecycle from concept to mass production. International travel is required.
Description
On this team, we investigate and collaborate with internal and external partners to define the display module specs for new iPhone projects. You will lead an internal, multi-functional team across optical, EE, ME, process and panel design experts. You will also lead collaboration with suppliers as the primary technical contact window. An average day in this multifaceted position could include; hands on characterization of electro-optical performance, data analysis and image processing, scripting for lab level measurement automation, working with various vendors and cross-functional teams on failure analysis, documentation and presentations of the work. We perform the vital display testing and review test results from the display vendors, system OEMs, and multi-functional groups at Apple to ensure the performance specifications are met, in addition to identifying all open engineering issues and drive them to closure with efficiency to support project needs. This person will ensure display goals are met for engineering builds and initial mass production while addressing issues from initial ramp and field returns related to displays and qualification of solutions. International travel is required for this position.
