Role summary

The Mechanical/Structural Engineer III will perform hostile environment system qualification analyses, including CAD development, structural response assessment, and finite element analysis (FEA) using scientific simulation software. Responsibilities include building CAD models, generating meshes for FEA, and utilizing technical computing languages like MATLAB and Python for model development. The role involves documenting and presenting analysis results to customers, assessing evaluation plans, and providing recommendations. A BS degree with 5-7 years of experience, MS with 3-5 years, or PhD with 0-2 years in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics (emphasis in shock physics) is required. The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance and possess strong communication and teamwork skills. Experience with FEA (Abaqus preferred), Mesh Development (Pointwise, HyperWorks, Patran preferred), CAD (CREO preferred), MATLAB/Python, briefing technical results, and Microsoft Office Products is necessary. Travel to customer sites is expected.

Responsibilities

Job Description:
