The AoPS Gaithersburg Academy is hiring part-time Teaching Assistants (TAs) with strong math and language arts skills to support our campus during the academic year. As a TA you may grade assignments, host regular office hours, and run on-demand 1-1 tutoring sessions. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to work with motivated younger students and contribute to the AoPS Academy community.
This is a part-time VIRTUAL position for the 2026–2027 Academic Year, Monday through Friday from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM ET. We ask that candidates be available to support at least two days of these five shifts. While this is a virtual position, candidates must reside in MD.
Our TAs contribute greatly to the success of our students and are an integral part of our Academy family. This may be a great fit for you if you enjoy interacting with students, guiding them as they work through challenging math and language arts problems, and helping them feel more confident about math and language arts concepts.
Academic year TAs work well independently and support students outside of their regular AoPS class time. TAs typically work with students from various classes/levels to assist with homework and help students understand material they missed or may need further guidance on.
