Role summary
ATS Traffic is seeking casual Lane Closure Technicians for their 2026 season in Kelowna, BC. This role involves conducting traffic control around cities, construction sites, and events by designing and setting up safe lane closures and detours using devices like barricades, pylons, and signage. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors in various weather conditions, is motivated and hardworking, and possesses a valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean record and a BC Traffic Control Person (TCP) ticket. Previous experience as a Lane Closure Technician is required, with a minimum of 6 months. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and a fit test including lifting up to 75 pounds.
Location: City of Kelowna, BC and surrounding areas
Wage: $25-$32 per hour, based on experience
Employment Status: Casual, schedules are job specific. Days, evenings, weekend shifts. Overtime available!

About the Positions
ATS Traffic is looking for Lane Closure Technicians to join us on our busy 2026 season! Do you enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather? Are you motivated, hardworking and looking for your new opportunity?
If so, consider joining ATS Traffic's On-Street Services department as an LCT, also known as a Traffic Technician! These positions will operate within the Municipalities in support of on-going projects. Please ensure to complete the below questionnaire to let us know your availability!
Conducting traffic control around cities, construction sites and major events such as music festivals or sporting events. Traffic Technicians design safe lane closures and traffic detours with physical setup and removal of devices such as barricades, pylons, signage and digital messaging boards.
Qualifications
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean 3-year Regular Driver Record from ICBC or equivalent is required
- A valid BC Traffic Control Person (TCP) ticket from the BCCSA is required.
- Own method of transportation to get to and from work is preferred.
- As this is a safety-sensitive position, all employees must undergo and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. This includes use of medical or recreational marijuana. ATS Traffic has a zero tolerance policy in place for safety-sensitive positions.
- Ability to successfully pass a Fit Test including lifting between 50 and 75 pounds.
- Previous experience as an Lane Closure Technician required; 6 months or more.
