Autoliv's primary goal is to Save More Lives. Our products never get a second chance. This is why we can never compromise on quality. We are working to increase vehicle safety by developing seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels and you can be part of our team as Development Senior Engineer.

In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing analytical methodologies, conducting detailed chemical and material characterization, interpreting complex data sets, and ensuring the quality, consistency, performance, and safety of energetic formulations.

Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing of energetic materials, raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, interpreting analytical data to support product performance, qualification, and certification activities.

  • Develop, optimize, validate, and document analytical methods, procedures, and laboratory protocols to ensure accurate, reliable, and compliant testing processes.

  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and qualify analytical instrumentation, while coordinating preventive maintenance and laboratory capability improvements.

  • Support research and development initiatives by designing experiments, characterizing new formulations, participating in technical reviews, and helping scale laboratory findings into manufacturing processes.

  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while promoting continuous improvement in analytical capabilities, data quality, and operational efficiency.

If you have/are:

  • PhD in Chemistry, preferably with a focus in Analytical Chemistry; professional chemistry society accreditations are a plus.

  • 2–10 years of laboratory experience with strong knowledge of chemical handling practices and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Experience with analytical characterization techniques such as DSC, TGA, TMA, XRD, FTIR, ion chromatography, gas chromatography, ICP, calorimetry, particle size analysis, and other materials characterization methods.

  • Strong analytical, data interpretation, and problem-solving skills, with experience in statistical Design of Experiments (DOE) considered desirable.

  • Ability to work safely with energetic materials, travel occasionally, support extended or weekend hours as needed, and maintain long-term U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.

We will be more than glad to chat with you about your experience and your career goals.

In our international work setting, you will find a range of opportunities that are designed to enhance your career and personal development. Including new and different perspectives is part of what ensures the team’s success. We are committed to develop people’s skills, knowledge and creative potential.
