BankSouth Mortgage is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead the day-to-day execution, operations, and performance of the marketing department. This role is responsible for translating marketing strategy into execution - ensuring the team, tools, workflows, and deliverables are aligned to support Production, drive adoption, and deliver measurable business results.

This individual will oversee the marketing team, manage workflows and SLAs, and ensure high-quality, compliant marketing output across all channels. This role plays a critical role in the success of the company’s CRM ecosystem, with direct ownership of the Marketing Hub and responsibility for its adoption, optimization, and performance. From a technology perspective, this role will partner closely with IT on system administration and Data Hub governance to ensure data integrity, proper tracking, and seamless system functionality. This role will also support Sales Hub adoption and effectiveness for Loan Officers and collaborate closely with Sales Leadership to align tools, processes, and user experience with business needs.

The Marketing Manager will work in close partnership with the VP of Digital Strategy and Marketing to plan and execute, collaborating with the marketing team to effectively and consistently bring strategies to life.

The Marketing Manager will serve as the operational backbone of the marketing function, ensuring excellence in execution, strong cross-functional alignment, and seamless experiences for Loan Officers and internal stakeholders. This role requires prior mortgage marketing experience, with a proven ability to elevate both corporate brand and individual Loan Officer production, ensuring the candidate can step in and drive immediate impact.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Team Leadership & Marketing Oversight

  • Manage the marketing team, including graphic design, content creation, brand management, online reputation, marketing asset management, and sales marketing support.
  • Oversee team performance, workflow management, prioritization, and professional development.
  • Establish and manage marketing intake processes, workflows, and SLAs to ensure timely and efficient delivery of marketing requests.
  • Ensure all marketing materials meet brand, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Lead adherence to brand guidelines, including voice, tone, and visual identity across all channels.
  • Oversee marketing asset management, ensuring organization, accessibility, and proper usage of materials.

Marketing Operations & Workflow Management

  • Own and optimize marketing workflows, processes, and systems to improve efficiency, scalability, and team productivity.
  • Develop and manage SLAs for marketing requests and Loan Officer support.
  • Implement structured intake and ticketing/request processes to streamline request management.
  • Identify bottlenecks using a Kaizen (continuous improvement) approach.
  • Ensure alignment between marketing execution and business priorities.

CRM Ownership & MarTech Alignment

  • Own the Marketing Hub, including campaign execution, workflows, automation, segmentation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT on system administration, integrations, and Data Hub governance.
  • Support the Sales Hub from a Loan Officer enablement perspective, including usage, adoption, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to enhance MarTech stack performance.

Campaign Execution & Customer Journey Optimization

  • Execute marketing strategies and campaigns defined by leadership across email, social, digital, print, and CRM channels.
  • Ensure campaigns are segmented, personalized, and aligned with target audiences.
  • Optimize the customer journey from lead generation through retention.
  • Partner with content and design team members to deliver high-impact campaigns.
  • Provide feedback and insights to leadership to inform future strategy refinement.
  • Prior experience executing segmented, personalized campaigns within a mortgage or similar sales-driven environment is required to effectively support Loan Officer pipelines and customer lifecycle engagement.

Analytics, Insights & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting to track marketing performance and KPIs.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of marketing data.
  • Ensure proper data flow, tracking, and attribution across systems for a holistic view of the customer lifecycle and ROI.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve campaign effectiveness and ROI.

Production (Sales) Support & Enablement

  • Leverage prior mortgage marketing experience to deliver structured, scalable marketing support that directly drives Loan Officer production and revenue growth.
  • Ensure Loan Officers have access to tools, templates, and resources to support their business.
  • Support adoption of Marketing Hub and Sales Hub tools and workflows.
  • Gather feedback from Production to improve marketing services and support.
  • Align marketing execution with sales needs, while Sales Leadership owns strategy and goals.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting individual producers (Loan Officers or equivalent) with co-branded, personalized marketing strategies that build both personal brand and company brand simultaneously.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, IT, Compliance, and Leadership to execute integrated initiatives.
  • Ensure marketing efforts align with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance of marketing content libraries and systems.
  • Support onboarding and training of team members and Loan Officers on marketing tools and processes.
  • Stay current on marketing trends, technology, and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPLIANCE

  • Responsible for learning, understanding, and practicing required fraud prevention practice, BSA and OFAC compliance requirements
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable federal and state regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality of all customer files & associated information
  • Assist examiners and auditors by providing required documentation
  • Correct exceptions to issues found by examiners and auditors
  • Comply with safekeeping procedures for sensitive documents
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, including direct experience in mortgage marketing, with a strong preference for candidates who have supported Loan Officer or producer-driven business models.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a marketing team or managing cross-functional projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret CRM and marketing data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Hands-on experience managing CRM platforms and marketing automation tools, including workflows, segmentation, reporting, and lifecycle communications; HubSpot experience highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to partner with Sales to support lead generation, lead management, and CRM strategies aligned with revenue goals.
  • Experience developing and managing customer journeys across email, SMS, social, and other digital channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, strategic thinker with a high attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Proficiency with marketing technology platforms, analytics tools, and digital marketing channels including email, social media, content marketing, and advertising.
  • Candidates without direct experience in mortgage or producer-driven marketing environments may not be successful in this role due to the need for immediate impact and alignment with sales-driven workflows.
