Restoration Technician — Sales & Project Management Track

Barex | [ Atlanta, GA ]
Learn in the Field. Advance into Estimating, Sales & Project Management.

Barex is hiring motivated people who want to learn the restoration business from the ground up and build a career with growing responsibility and earning potential.

Your first approximately four to six months will focus on hands-on field training. You’ll work alongside our restoration team, learn how mitigation work is performed, and participate in the daily work of helping property owners recover from water, fire, and mold damage.

The goal is to prepare you to move into estimating, selling, and managing restoration projects—with firsthand knowledge of the work you’re responsible for.

Previous restoration experience is not required. We’re looking for people who communicate well, take ownership, enjoy solving problems, and are willing to put in the work to learn.

Where you’ll start: hands-on restoration

During your initial field training, you’ll learn to:

  • Perform water extraction, cleanup, and removal of damaged materials.

  • Set up, monitor, and remove drying and other restoration equipment.

  • Follow safety procedures and protect customers’ properties.

  • Document damage, take measurements, and maintain job photos and notes.

  • Communicate professionally with customers and teammates.

  • Understand how restoration projects progress from the initial response through completion.

This is an active, physical role. You will participate in the work while learning how to assess damage, plan projects, and deliver quality results.

Where the role leads: estimating, sales & project management

As you demonstrate readiness, your responsibilities will shift toward:

  • Inspecting properties and developing scopes of work.

  • Preparing estimates and explaining proposed services.

  • Following up with customers and securing approved projects.

  • Understanding insurance-related project workflows and documentation.

  • Coordinating crews, schedules, equipment, and customer updates.

  • Managing job progress, quality, and completion.

We expect the initial field training period to last approximately four to six months. Progression depends on demonstrated skills, performance, and readiness to manage projects. Hands-on support remains part of the role when needed.

Who will do well here

You may come from customer service, hospitality, sales, property operations, military service, construction, or another field where people depended on you.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Takes responsibility and follows through.

  • Builds trust and communicates clearly.

  • Is willing to perform physical fieldwork.

  • Learns new procedures and software with attention to detail.

  • Accepts feedback and applies it.

  • Wants to develop sales skills and be accountable for results.

  • Is looking for a long-term opportunity to grow.
