Role summary
BBYO is seeking an IT & People Operations Support Specialist to manage technology, vendors, and the DC Hub office. This role serves as the internal IT point of contact, handling staff access, device management, onboarding/offboarding, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include managing relationships with external IT vendors, maintaining IT policies, managing software licenses and contracts, and overseeing office operations. The role also provides support for people operations functions like HR forms, compliance tracking, and engagement programs. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of IT operations experience, hands-on Microsoft 365 administration, helpdesk management experience, and comfort with vendor management, security practices, and contract administration. Approximately 60% IT operations, 25% office/facilities, and 15% people operations support.
Location: Washington, DC (on-site, DC Hub)Salary range: $70,000 to $75,000Status: Full-time, year-round
At BBYO, we’re motivated by our mission, inspiring us to reimagine work to make it fun, flexible, and fulfilling. We are looking for a passionate IT & People Operations Support Specialist to join our team and make a difference. As an IT & People Operations Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping our staff connected and secure, managing the technology and vendors our teams rely on every day, and running our DC Hub so the people behind BBYO’s programs can focus on creating meaningful experiences for Jewish teens. Alongside your teammates, you’ll connect in a dynamic environment and create a positive impact on teens, our community, and the world.
BBYO runs on a small internal IT team and an outside managed service provider. This role is the person in the middle: the one who decides what gets handled internally, what goes to the vendor, and whether the vendor actually did it. Day to day, that means owning staff access across our systems, keeping the device fleet and license inventory current, running onboarding and off-boarding for a distributed staff, and being the internal point of contact when something breaks. It also means running the DC Hub office, because we’re a small shop and the person who knows the building is the person who knows the badge system.
This is a good fit for someone with real IT operations experience who wants ownership rather than a ticket queue, and who doesn’t mind that 40% of the job is logistics and administration. It’s a bad fit for someone who wants to be purely technical.
Roughly: 60% IT operations, 25% office and facilities, 15% people operations support.
