Role summary

BETA Technologies is seeking a Computational Design Engineer for its Advanced Concepts team. This role focuses on integrating generative methods and optimization with aircraft geometry, physics, and manufacturing constraints to support electric aviation development. The engineer will build and maintain design workflows, verify concepts, and apply AI to configuration trades. Responsibilities include documenting assumptions, interfaces, and verification needs, and communicating technical information across disciplines. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least three years of relevant experience, with a strong understanding of aircraft development practices and traceable technical information management. Experience with AI, optimization, and API integration is preferred.

At BETA Technologies, we apply our intellectual curiosity, passion for aviation, and commitment to sustainability toward a shared mission of revolutionizing electric aviation. Regardless of the position one holds, each team member brings their talent and desire to positively impact the environment and lives of others in a refreshing, vibrant, and inclusive culture.

The Computational Design Engineer will connect generative methods and optimization to aircraft geometry, physics models and manufacturing constraints. The role supports aircraft development while building methods, evidence, and reusable capability for broader Advanced Systems teams and partners. This position will be based onsite at our South Burlington, VT office location, our Raleigh, NC office. Remote candidates may be considered for a hybrid role, with monthly visits to South Burlington, VT for in person work.
