Role summary
Bevi seeks a Sustaining Embedded Systems Engineer to maintain the reliability and cost-effectiveness of its connected machines' electronics and firmware. This hands-on role involves leading root-cause investigations for field and factory failures, implementing firmware and electrical fixes, managing component obsolescence, and ensuring supply continuity with contract manufacturers. You will debug issues across microcontrollers and embedded Linux/Android platforms, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and improve existing product performance. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, strong debugging skills with lab tools, and familiarity with hardware interfaces and PLM systems.
Bevi is on a mission to transform how beverages are delivered and consumed. Our connected beverage platform eliminates the need for single-use bottles and cans, making it easy, fun, and sustainable to stay hydrated. As the category leader in IoT-enabled beverage technology, we're building a future where Bevi machines are everywhere people live, work, and connect. We've raised over $160M in venture capital, serve thousands of customers across the US, Canada, UK and Ireland, and we've been rapidly growing year over year, saving over 1 billion bottles from waste. In addition to driving hypergrowth with our current product line, Bevi is heavily investing in new product development.
Bevi is looking for a Sustaining Embedded Systems Engineer to keep the electronics and firmware in our installed fleet healthy, reliable, and cost-effective. Thousands of connected Bevi machines are running in offices, campuses, and public spaces every day. When something goes wrong with a board, a sensor, a pump driver, or a firmware build in the field, you will be the person who finds out why and makes sure it doesn't happen again.
This is a hands-on, firmware-focused role for an engineer who is just as comfortable at the bench as in the code. You will root-cause field and factory failures, implement firmware fixes and drive electrical fixes with our EE team on products already in production, manage component obsolescence and second sourcing, and partner closely with our contract manufacturers to keep production running and yields high.
This role reports to the Director of Embedded Engineering, who owns your technical standards, career growth, and development. Day to day, you will work as a dotted-line member of the Sustaining team, which sets priorities for production and field issues and owns the cross-functional sustaining roadmap. You’ll operate in close partnership with Mechanical, Software, Quality, Manufacturing, Technical Services, and our contract manufacturing partners.
