Role summary

A Financial Controller is needed to manage day-to-day accounting operations, including invoicing, receivables, payables, and bank reconciliations, using Zoho Books. This role involves tracking cash flow, expenses, and financial commitments, and preparing monthly management accounts and financial summaries. The controller will also ensure compliance with Indian statutory requirements (GST, TDS, ROC), coordinate with external CA firms and auditors, and implement accounting workflows. Additionally, the role supports investor and grant reporting by tracking fund utilization and project budgets. A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance with 4-8 years of relevant experience is required. Familiarity with startups, manufacturing, or impact-oriented organizations is preferred.

Accounting & Financial Operations

Manage day to day accounting including invoicing, receivables, payables, and bank reconciliation
Maintain accurate books of accounts using Zoho Books
Track cash flow, expenses, and financial commitments
Prepare monthly management accounts, MIS reports, and financial summaries
Coordinate with leadership on budgeting, financial planning, and cost tracking

Compliance & Statutory Filings

Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, ROC, and other statutory requirements in India
Coordinate preparation and filing of GST returns, TDS returns, and annual filings
Work closely with external CA firms, auditors, and legal advisors
Maintain compliance calendars and documentation

Systems & Process Management

Implement and maintain accounting and compliance workflows using tools such as Zoho Books and other relevant platforms
Ensure proper documentation, record keeping, and audit readiness
Develop efficient SOPs for financial operations

Investor & Grant Reporting

Assist in preparing financial reports required for investors, lenders, and grant programs
Track utilization of funds, project budgets, and reporting obligations

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field
4 to 8 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or compliance roles
Strong working proficiency in Zoho Books
Familiarity with GST, TDS, ROC filings, and Indian regulatory requirements
Experience working with startups, manufacturing firms, or impact oriented organizations is preferred
