Role summary
Cargill is seeking a Meat Prep Operator for their protein and salt business in Timberville, VA. This full-time position involves operating various meat processing machines, setting up and tearing down equipment, weighing and grinding ingredients, and performing production line tasks. The role requires the ability to lift 50lbs, perform physical tasks like stooping and bending, read meat inventories and formulas, and operate the IPFS system. Candidates must be 18+, eligible to work in the US without sponsorship, and possess good math, reading, and communication skills. Previous production or farm experience is preferred.

Principal Accountabilities
- Must be able to rotate all positions: Grinder Operator, Gravy, Mix injection, Brine, Tumbler and Spice Room
- Set up and tear down machines, weigh, grinding, chopper, mixing, scales and ability to operate mobile powered equipment
- Responsible for completion of paperwork and other miscellaneous duties
- Also requires lifting, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, and recording weights from scales
- Ability to operate the IPFS system
- Ability to perform multiple tasks
- Work on the production line as needed
- Ability to read and comprehend meat inventories and formulas for product ingredients
- Must be able to rotate within the department and other departments
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours and/or shifts
- Accuracy, precision, and dependability are a necessity
- Must be a self-starter and have good communication skills
- Must be a team player but also must be able to work well alone
- Must have good basic math and reading skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous production/farm experience
- Work history in the past 12 months
