Role summary

Charter Manufacturing is seeking an IT Support Technician Intern to gain hands-on experience in technical support. Responsibilities include setting up new computers, configuring handheld scanners and printers, and resolving employee technology issues via a ticketing system. The internship is year-round, part-time during the academic year (15-20 hours/week) and full-time during the summer (40 hours/week), located in Mequon, WI. Candidates must be enrolled in a relevant degree program (IT, MIS, CS, etc.) as at least a Sophomore with a minimum 2.75 GPA. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The role involves end-user support, participation in continuous improvement projects, and process documentation.

About the IT Support Technician Internship:

Gain hands-on experience providing technical support by setting up new computers, configuring handheld scanners and printers, and resolving employee technology issues through our ticketing system.

Program structure:

Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.
Location: Mequon, WI
Start Date: January 2027
Duration: Year-round internship

What we're looking for:

Enrollment in a two-year or four-year degree program in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Ability to succeed in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.

What you'll focus on:

End-user IT support: software installation, hardware set-up and delivery within our ticketing system.
Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
Document and improve processes.
