Role summary

The Manager of EPM Platform is a people-leadership role responsible for the governance, change management, and controls of the organization's EPM platforms, specifically OneStream and legacy Hyperion. This role acts as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders, EPM Administrators, and third-party consultants, quarterbacking all incoming requests from intake to resolution. Key accountabilities include managing business request intake and triage, owning and improving the change management framework, designing and enforcing governance and controls, overseeing platform and vendor relationships, and directly managing a team of two EPM Administrators. The role also manages the Hyperion transition to end-of-life. A strong understanding of EPM systems, change management, IT governance, and vendor management is required, along with direct people management experience.

The Opportunity

The Manager of EPM Platform is a people-leadership role accountable for the governance, change management, and controls posture of the organization's EPM platforms, leading a team of two EPM Administrators covering OneStream, the organization's new EPM platform, and Hyperion, the legacy platform. Acting as the primary point of accountability between the business, the EPM Administrators, and third-party MSO consultants, the Manager quarterbacks all incoming requests from intake through resolution — triaging priority and complexity, assigning the right resource, and ensuring work is delivered within a disciplined change management and controls framework. The role also owns the Hyperion transition: Hyperion will stop receiving operational updates after December 2026, though system access will continue beyond that date. This role establishes and enforces the protocols that protect the integrity, security, and auditability of the EPM environment, while ensuring the business experiences a single, well-managed front door for EPM platform needs.

Key Accountabilities

Business Request Intake & Triage

  • Serve as the single point of accountability and “quarterback” for all OneStream-related requests coming in from the business.
  • Triage incoming requests for priority, complexity, and risk, and determine the appropriate resourcing path — the EPM Administrators, third-party MSO consultants, or a combination of both.
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders to clarify scope, gather requirements, set expectations, and provide status updates through to resolution.
  • Act as the day-to-day relationship owner with third-party MSO consultants, directing their work, reviewing deliverables, and holding them accountable to timelines and quality standards.
  • Reinforce EPM as the mandatory first point of contact for all OneStream requests, redirecting stakeholders who attempt to bypass the intake process.
  • Escalate complex, cross-functional, or resourcing conflicts to the Sr. Director, Data & Analytics with clear recommendations.

Change Management

  • Own and continuously improve the change management framework for the OneStream platform, covering configuration, security, integrations, and reporting/planning logic.
  • Establish and enforce a formal change intake, approval, and sign-off process, including documentation standards and required approvals prior to promotion to production.
  • Assess and document the business, technical, and risk impact of proposed changes before implementation.
  • Maintain a complete, auditable change log/register for the OneStream environment.
  • Plan and coordinate release and deployment schedules to minimize disruption during peak business cycles (month-end, quarter-end, budget, and forecast).

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and enforce governance protocols and standard operating procedures for OneStream administration and system change.
  • Define, monitor, and enforce security, access, and segregation-of-duties controls in partnership with the EPM Administrators.
  • Ensure OneStream administration and change activity meet internal controls, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead periodic reviews/audits of system configuration, user access, and change history, and remediate gaps.
  • Own and maintain governance documentation, including policies, procedures, RACI, and control frameworks for the EPM environment.

Platform & Vendor Oversight

  • Manage the ongoing relationship with third-party MSO consultants, directing their work and holding them accountable to timelines, deliverable quality, and scope.
  • Oversee Testing/QA and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles for OneStream releases, ensuring they follow the established change management protocol.
  • Ensure system and control documentation remains current and reflects the live-state configuration of the platform.

People Leadership:

  • Directly manage the two EPM Administrators (OneStream and Hyperion), including workload planning, performance management, coaching, and professional development.
  • Own the Hyperion end-of-life transition plan, coordinating accessibility and operational update cut-off ahead of the end-of-2026 sunset date with stakeholders.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop EPM Administrator talent, and foster teamwork and knowledge-sharing across the OneStream and Hyperion functions.

Department Leadership (as applicable)

  • Own budgetary and financial oversight of third-party MSO consultant spend, including statements of work, invoice/effort accuracy, and OneStream licensing costs, in partnership with the Sr. Director, Data & Analytics.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Post-secondary Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science, Accounting/Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • OneStream certification (Administrator or Design) is strongly preferred.
  • Accounting and financial knowledge is a strong asset, given the controls and compliance focus of the role.

Experience:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in EPM/financial systems administration, IT governance, or systems delivery, including hands-on OneStream experience (Hyperion or comparable EPM platform experience considered).
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or enforcing change management processes for enterprise systems.
  • Experience designing or enforcing IT governance, controls, or compliance protocols; SOX or internal audit experience is an asset.
  • Experience triaging and managing incoming business requests, and translating business needs into scoped technical work.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, managed service providers, or consultants, including SOWs, deliverables, and performance accountability.
  • Experience acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams; prior direct people-management experience, including performance management and coaching, is preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of change management practice and IT general controls (ITGCs) as applied to enterprise/financial systems, and working knowledge of OneStream functionality (consolidation, reporting, planning, security) sufficient to triage and validate technical requests without requiring deep hands-on administration.
  • OneStream – Advanced; Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint – Advanced.
  • Confident, credible stakeholder management with the ability to set expectations and manage competing priorities.
  • Skilled at directing and holding external consultants/MSOs accountable to scope, timelines, and quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present technical and control concepts to varied audiences and enforce protocols diplomatically but firmly.
  • Sound judgment in assessing urgency, impact, and risk to sequence competing requests.

Effort

Primarily mental effort: sustained concentration and attention to detail when reviewing system configurations, change requests, and audit/control documentation; extended periods viewing a computer screen while validating OneStream/Hyperion data, coordinating releases, and managing competing priorities across the team and business stakeholders. Physical effort is typical of an office role, involving sitting, keyboarding, and occasional walking within the office environment.

Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in an office environment at the Corporate Office in Mississauga, with the following considerations:

  • Availability to work non-standard hours and flexibility concerning workdays.
  • Irregular work hours required during peak periods such as month-end, quarter-end, and budget/forecast cycles.
  • Off-hour support as needed based on release schedules, ongoing operations, and project demands.
