Mid-Senior levelJob Description:
At Cloudera, we empower people to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights. With as much data under management as the hyperscalers, we're the preferred data partner for the top companies in almost every industry. Powered by the relentless innovation of the open source community, Cloudera advances digital transformation for the world’s largest enterprises.
Cloudera is looking for an exceptional and passionate full-stack software engineer to join the Cloudera Data Services team. The team builds the control plane, Kubernetes operators, APIs, and web interfaces that run popular open-source query engines like Trino over table formats such as Apache Iceberg. This is an exciting opportunity to work on products that handle complex SQL query workloads on public or private clouds. The role is full stack: Go services and Kubernetes operators on the backend, React and TypeScript on the frontend.
As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will:
- Work on the services that provision, configure, scale, and monitor SQL warehouses on Kubernetes, in a distributed team of full-stack engineers
- Design and build Go backend services: OpenAPI-defined REST and gRPC APIs, long-running lifecycle workflows and PostgreSQL-backed state
- Build Kubernetes operators that run Trino from custom resources: controllers, CRD design, layered configuration and Helm-based deployment
- Build web applications with React and TypeScript for managing warehouses, browsing catalogs and monitoring queries and cluster health
- Own features end to end, from design through testing, rollout, and production support, as containerized services across Kubernetes flavors such as EKS, AKS, and OpenShift.
- Write design documentation for key features and capabilities
- Improve code quality through writing tests, automation, and code reviews
- Understand the customer's workload and provide effective technical solutions
We’re excited about you if you have:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience designing and developing enterprise software with a strong understanding of scaling and performance
- Clean coding habits, attention to detail, and a focus on quality
- Hands-on programmer with strong data structures and algorithms skills. Strong Go experience is required; Java experience is desired
- Experience building Kubernetes operators with client-go and controller-runtime or kubebuilder, including CRD design and Helm
- Experience building backend services with OpenAPI-defined REST or gRPC APIs and PostgreSQL
- Experience building web applications with React and TypeScript
- Working knowledge of SQL and of operating a query engine such as Trino or similar engines: configuration, catalogs, coordinator and worker topology
- Practitioner of automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) and CI/CD
- Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship, along with a high bias for action
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on cross-functional projects
You may also have:
- Java experience, especially understanding or extending Trino or similar engine
- Experience with service meshes such as Istio and Kubernetes autoscaling (KEDA)
- Experience with Kerberos, LDAP or SAML, Apache Ranger, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry
- Experience with Redux or JavaScript codebases adopting TypeScript, and with Playwright or Jest
- Experience with GitOps and OCI registries

Pacific and Atlantic Water Flow Calculate water flow from a matrix to the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Input: heights = [[2,1],[1,2]] Output: [[0,0],[0,1],[1,0],[1,1]] Explanation: All cells can flow to both oceans because water can move to adjacent cells of equal or lower height or directly off the edges.

Decode Ways Determine the number of valid ways to decode a string of digits. Input: s = "10" Output: 1 Explanation: The string can only be decoded one single way, as the sequence '10' maps exclusively to the letter 'J'.
