Sr. Cloud Security Engineer
Role summary
Comerit is seeking a Sr. Cloud Security Engineer for a remote, 6+ month contract role supporting a client in the East Bay Area of San Francisco. The engineer will join the Infrastructure team, focusing on the security posture of cloud resources including compute instances, containers, databases, and networking. Responsibilities include implementing security policies, managing infrastructure security, and working within a DevSecOps framework. Requirements include 5+ years of experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, data pipelines (Postgres, NiFi, Kafka), SIEM tools, vulnerability awareness, private CA knowledge, Terraform, Helm, Python, Linux/Unix, TLS, penetration testing, and familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
Comerit is searching for a Sr. Cloud Security Engineer towork on contract remotely for 6+ month for our client located in the East Bay Areaof San Francisco.
This person will be part of the Infrastructure team responsiblefor the resource stack of the overall product and includes provisioning,networking, and security.
This candidate must possess knowledge of Cloud Infrastructureand increasing the security posture of all components deployed in it.
This will includes cloud compute instances, containers, databases,and networking. Familiarity and fluency with these cloud primitives arerequired.
Also needed is basic working knowledge of Git, CICDpipelines and the ability to work in an Agile framework
Role will include:
- Being part of the Infrastructure Team
- Daily standups and scrum
- Handling tickets and work assignments via JiraStories
- Maintenance of the Infrastructure and itsSecurity.
- Provisioning of Resources in the cloud
- Handling ad-hoc requirements with regards toInfrastructure Security
- Development and implementation of security policies and requirements.
- Performing related activities as part of DevSecOps org.
Requirements
5 years+experience
• AWS / Azure /GCP (one of the 3 cloud providers)
• Containers,Kubernetes
• Datapipelines – Postgress, NiFi and Kafka
• SIEM toolsand implantations.
• Awareness ofopen-source vulnerabilities
• PrivateCertification authority workings and infrastructure
• Terraform andHelm
• Expertise inPython, Linux/Unix
