Role summary

Connections Health Solutions is seeking a part-time Environmental Services & Facilities Technician for weekend shifts at their RESET Center in San Francisco. This role involves performing skilled housekeeping, maintenance, and handyman tasks, including general janitorial work, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, responding to repair tickets, coordinating with vendors, managing inventory, ensuring facility cleanliness, and adhering to safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate has 3 years of relevant experience in building repair/maintenance or housekeeping, with working knowledge of various repair tasks and a mechanical aptitude. Previous healthcare facility experience is a plus.

About the RESET Center, operated by Connections

Located in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood, the RESET Center provides an alternative destination for individuals who are found to be publicly intoxicated (due to alcohol and/or drugs) and would otherwise be transported to the emergency department or jail.

In collaboration and partnership with local law enforcement and public health agencies, the RESET Center aims to effectively divert intoxicated individuals away from the criminal justice and/or healthcare systems to improve outcomes, reduce systemic burden, and support connection to needed resources within the community.

What You'll Do:

This position performs highly skilled housekeeping, maintenance and handyman tasks to care for and maintain the facility and grounds. The Environmental Services & Facilities Technician uses their knowledge of housekeeping processes, power and manual tools needed to perform tasks in categories such as general janitorial, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting and mechanical equipment, etc. to ensure the buildings are in pristine condition.

Facility Maintenance & Operations

Perform routine, rotational maintenance to ensure equipment and facility operations run smoothly

Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and process issues independently, identifying and resolving root causes

Utilize power and manual tools for cutting, fitting, and assembling as needed for repairs and projects

Work Order & Vendor Coordination

Respond to repair and maintenance tickets submitted by internal departments in a timely manner

Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for outsourced repairs, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution

Oversee food services vendor performance, including delivery timelines and quality standards

Inventory & Supply Management

Order medical supplies, monitor inventory levels, and report on supply status

Receive, organize, and distribute supplies throughout the facility

Compliance & Environment of Care

Report Environment of Care concerns through the ticketing system to support Safety Committee documentation and compliance

Ensure adherence to facility standards related to safety, maintenance, and operational readiness

Facility Cleanliness & Upkeep

Maintain overall facility cleanliness, including floor care, general cleaning, restroom upkeep, and window cleaning

Restock supplies and perform additional cleaning duties as needed to support a safe and functional environment

What You'll Bring:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

3 years of relevant work experience in the repair and maintenance of a variety of building and mechanical equipment OR 3 years' experience in housekeeping/janitorial cleaning

Working knowledge of: Drywall repair, painting, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, shipping and receiving, and door hardware

The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment

It would be great if you had:

Previous healthcare facility experience

1 year of experience performing tasks requiring mechanical aptitude

Knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, and tools used in the maintenance

Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in the use of mechanical equipment and chemicals
